Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, it is.

How can I get my products/services featured inside Mom’s Breastaurant?
If you or your organization chose to become a sponsor, you could advertise your products or services on a poster inside the booth, or leave coupons or samples for visitors to the booth to take with them, depending on the Sponsor level you choose.
How can I support Mom’s Breastaurant?
Mom’s Breastaurant is entirely supported through sponsorships, donations, and the sale of merchandise on the MB website and at the booth during events.
Are bottlefeeding moms really welcome at Mom’s Breastaurant?
Absolutely. Any mom who wants to sit down and feed her baby is welcome to come inside and relax and snuggle her little one.
How do you afford to rent booth space?
To date, all events that have required MB to purchase space to participate have been paid entirely out of pocket. We are, however, moving slowly-but-surely into a model where events recognize the service we provide not only to their attendees, but also to THEM, and they give us the space in which to set up our booth. If we were not moving into this model, then MB would soon be closing up shop, because, quite simply, I cannot afford it for much longer.
How do I know if Mom’s Breastaurant is at an event near me?
Check out our Events page. Events that are confirmed on our schedule are marked in red. Those that we’re still working to confirm are in black.
How can I get/encourage Mom’s Breastaurant to attend an event in my hometown?
Let us know about events in your area! We do plan to grow and expand to other areas, and having info on local events will be tremendously helpful. Also, we have provided sample letters that you can download and personalize to send to event organizers. The first letter alerts them to the service MB provides and encourages them to bring us to their event. The second letter thanks them for having us there and encourages them to bring us back for the next event.
Where did you get the idea for Mom's Breastaurant?
A friend visited a large outdoor festival in her neighborhood and couldn't find a comfortable place to nurse her daughter that was out of the sun. She trekked back out across the parking lot to her steamy car where she had a small awning and a camp chair in the trunk. She set them up and sat down to breastfeed her baby. The event security folks showed up and demanded that she take it down, claiming that she had set up an 'unauthorized' booth at their festival. She refused, and not long after that the police arrived to force her to take it down. She mused on how she'd like to have a real booth at the event, and as we discussed it, MB was born. When MB finally gets to do an event (perhaps this very one!) in her neck of the woods I know she'll be there to lend support.
How can you claim to be promoting (public) breastfeeding when you hide it away in a tent?
Mom's Breastaurant is not about privacy - it's about getting out of the sun or wind (or rain!), getting away from the audio- and visual-stimulation that can distract an infant from feeding, and simply giving mom a place to sit down for a few minutes. We firmly support public breastfeeding, but we recognize that sometimes a feeding session goes more smoothly for both mom and baby if they are in a more relaxed, calm environment. If that environment comes with a bit of privacy, so be it.
How do I run a Mom's Breastaurant booth at events in my area or do other volunteer work for MB?
At present, since MB is a one-woman show, events are limited to just what I can do. We're hoping to open 'chapters' in other areas for greater event coverage. As for volunteering - I can use help identifying events in which to participate. Research into dates, organizer contact info, advertising opportunities, and assistance with staffing would be very helpful. If you're interested in helping out, please contact me.
